After the 2016 film Pretham, Ranjith Sankar chose to team up again with Jayasurya. Sankar got the underlying thought of a film while he was flying out on prepare to Thiruvananthapuram, it was reported to be a continuation of their 2013 film Punyalan Agarbattis. Sankar was considering over making a continuation of the film since 2013, “I more likely than not contemplated more than 10,000 stories for the spin-off. Political parody needs a solid subject. At that point, the basic pattern where spin-offs once in a while turn superior to anything initial segment too was a block. Be that as it may, when I handled this story, I understood the time has come to report the undertaking,” says Sankar, who scripted it himself. Sankar and Jayasurya propelled the appropriation organization Punyalan Cinemas with this film.
